- CAPACITY BUILDING

Success is helping until we are no longer needed.

TYTHE has never approached our work as having all of the ideas and answers. We are process experts, and we strive to give our partnering clients the skills they will need to be able to continue the work once we leave. It is our hope that, in time, we’re putting ourselves out of business because we have built the capacity of our clients to implement these practices without us.

Our intent is always to share what we’re learning on the ground, so our processes evolve as we observe organizations and their implementation. TYTHE began leading workshops in 2011, and we proudly continue to this day. Our NYC Department of Small Business Services contract (highlighted in Forbes!) in 2015-2016 was TYTHE’s first opportunity to specifically develop a curriculum for an agency to support their ongoing growth using a train-the-trainer model–one that TYTHE prides itself on implementing to build staff and community capacity.

TYTHE’s most recent capacity-building work has included training for DOHMH community partners in the Bronx and on-the-ground workshops in collaboration with the Center for Justice Innovation: Neighborhood Safety Initiatives for NYCHA resident leaders. Opportunities like these mean we’re not just training agency staff, but we’re continuing to move toward leveraging the skills of the folks in the communities who are implementing the work.
